& Mark Abis  too….when legendary record producer Joe Boyd (of Nick Drake, Pink Floyd and REM) said “Going back to the mid-Sixties, I’ve heard more than any one man’s fair of singer-songwriters, so it takes a lot to get my attention. Sat 03/05/2014 Hannah Scott  Hannah’s latest collection of songs, ‘The Space In Between EP’ will be available to buy on the night.This EP sees her collaborate with international producer and multi-instrumentalist Stefano, whose influence and direction has been key to her progression, both as a songwriter and performer. The record features world-class musicians such as David Clayton (Simply Red, Take That) and is out on the Casa Music label now. Declan Zapala (click the pic to see and hear him) a graduate of the Royal College of Music and making his third appearance here is part of an innovative new wave of concert guitarists, writing and performing music that explores new avenues in guitar technique whilst maintaining a close relationship with the traditions of the guitar’s vast repertoire.

Romantic Scribblers – Launched 7th May 2014  Wednesday mornings 11am to 1pm upstairs at The Drawingroom.

After the success of Chesham Writers and Scribblers lunchtime and evenings groups,  Jane Carling and Jan Flannigan will be launching a new writing group for beginners, scribblers, published authors who  write about romance, crime, thrillers, historical or even hysterical fiction, but tales must have a romantic theme running through and mostly with happy endings!

If you think you have a book in you, why not come along to our informal meetings to discuss debate, share information and trouble shoot. Unlike the other groups, there will be no tasks and you will not be required to read aloud unless you want to.

These informal  meetings will be held  on the first Wednesday of the month from 11 am to 1pm at The Drawing Room in Francis Yard Chesham. The meeting is free but you pay £5.00 to The Drawing Room which will include a drink.

Sat 19/04/2014   Will Mcnicol returns…how completely cool. Selected in 2014 as Acoustic Guitar Magazine’s 30 under 30 along with established name like Ed Sheeran he supported Eleanor McEvoy. Also appearing will be Hawk , featuring the fabulous voice and musical charms of this Irish female singer who played here last year. Another night of fabulous music, home-cooked food and wonderful company is coming up…make sure that at least once in your life you experience a night at The Drawingroom…home to emerging stars. Paul Diello & Against the Grain There are still some places available to hear two sets of musicians thrill you this coming saturday. Paul Diello (of whom I have heard good things) is accompanied with voices and guitars…all the way from Brighton..whilst Jo and Jeff, from Against the Grain, are more local. Jo for many years was the rhythm and beat of Zoox, a highly acclaimed jazzy/folky/celtic/edgy…not in a box sound who made it onto Radio two and several respected stages across the UK. Jo is one of the most respected percussionists of her generation..passionate about her craft and it shows….

It will be a brilliant night…and as I say…every night is different…drop the angst..pick up the phone or mail me…come, let’s party.
